Executive Director, Center for Health Sector Management

Kate Miller is the Executive Director of the Center for Health Sector Management.

Prior to joining HSM, Kate worked in Research Triangle Park, NC, for more than 15 years at the international headquarters for Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society.  During this time, she worked extensively with graduate students and faculty and also served as director of marketing for their magazine, American Scientist, which has been published since 1913.

Kate holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee and earned her Master of Science in Management through the National-Louis University Executive Program while working for a trade association in Washington, DC.  She has traveled extensively (16 countries!) and worked for a PR firm in London before moving to Washington.  She and her husband, George, have a son and identical twin daughters.  Kate is passionate about health care and recently served for six years on the Board of Directors for Caring House, a home away from home for adults undergoing treatment at the Duke Cancer Institute.
