Ryan Van Slyke

Ryan Van Slyke is a second-year MBA student at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business studying finance and social entrepreneurship, and international development at the Sanford School of Public Policy. Originally from Syracuse, NY, Ryan is passionate about using the tools of business, policy, and civil society to invest in communities and walk with community members in improving their wellbeing and livelihoods, particularly in climate resilience and adaptation. Ryan’s career pre-Fuqua took him from supporting U.S. veterans and military families in research/policy/partnerships; to international development working with the World Bank, UNDP, UNICEF, and the UN in Europe, Asia, and Latin America; and to management consulting at Booz Allen Hamilton working with U.S. government agencies to use data more fully to inform service delivery to citizens. In Summer 2023, Ryan will be interning with State Street Global Advisors in Boston as an ESG Summer Associate. At Fuqua, Ryan is the MBAA Vice President for Service and Sustainability, a Coach K Center for Leadership and Ethics (COLE) Leadership Fellow, a student leader in Duke’s Sustainable Development and Social Impact (SBSI) Conference, and a member of the Duke University Chapel Choir.
