At Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, we talk a lot about deploying an entrepreneurial mindset to make a positive and lasting impact on the world around us. But what I’m most proud of is that this is not just something we talk about and try to teach our students, it’s also a skill and mindset that we practice as an organization. A great example of this, is the new Entrepreneurial Mindset and Action course that will be taught by Professors Christine Moorman and Manuel Adelino. This course will be required of all incoming Daytime MBA students starting with the class of 2022.
Acknowledging that business today requires talent possessing an innovative spirit with the knowledge and ability to see opportunities, create value, and marshal resources by solving big problems for the benefit of business, customers, and society, the Entrepreneurial Mindset and Action course will support Fuqua students in developing these perspectives and skills from the start of their MBA journey. The goal is not to produce more new venture entrepreneurs, but rather to equip tomorrow’s business leaders with the mindset and tools they need to contribute to organizational growth in entrepreneurial ventures and in established organizations across a wide-ranging set of profit and non-profit industries.
This one-of-a-kind MBA course is designed to catalyze Fuqua students to put their vision into motion, turning their ideas into world-changing, industry-shifting solutions through user-centered, resource-efficient approaches. I couldn’t be more excited to see the impact that the Fuqua Daytime MBA Class of 2022 has in the years to come.
To impact,

Professor Jamie Jones, Executive Director, CEI
