In January 2021, Pratap Mukharji (MBA ’83) joined Fuqua as an Executive-in-Residence, after a distinguished career leading consulting projects in the energy sector. He recently retired from Bain & Company where he was a Director and Senior Partner and a senior leader in the Energy and Natural Resources practice.
As Executive-in-Residence, Pratap is currently advising teams in the Fuqua Client Consulting Practicum (FCCP) program and writing a case study about Duke Energy’s experience balancing investor, customer, and societal/stakeholder priorities in their Integrated Resource Planning process.
While at Bain, much of his work focused on utilities, where he advised on topics including strategic planning, new product and services, grid modernization, organization design and operational effectiveness and efficiency. He also worked across other Industrials companies on similar topics. Over his career at Bain, he led the Supply Chain practice and the Service Operations practice.
Prior to Bain, Pratap was a Partner/Vice President at A. T. Kearney (Kearney) where he led the Southern region (Atlanta, Dallas and Mexico City) and worked with clients across Industrials (Transportation/Logistics, Manufacturing and Utilities) and Telecom. He previously spent over four years with Booz Allen & Hamilton (Booz & Co.) where he was a Senior Associate. Prior to consulting, he worked in information technology.
Pratap has an MBA from Fuqua, where he was recognized a Fuqua Scholar, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Haverford College with a BA in Economics. Pratap is married with one daughter and resides in Atlanta with his wife, Carolynn Cooper (MBA ’83), who is also a Fuqua alumna.
