Planning for the next Duke University Energy Conference is underway! This year’s team will be led by co-chairs Jack Corey and Joe Murray.
Meet Joe and Jack below… and save the date to attend the conference on Nov. 11, 2026!
Jack Corey (MBA’27)

Jack is an MBA candidate studying energy finance and how the energy transition is reshaping investment, operations, and the role of traditional energy companies. This year at Fuqua, he organized an Energy Conference panel on grid resiliency, bringing together industry experts to discuss reliability, system constraints, and the challenges of integrating new generation. Prior to coming to Duke, Jack spent six years working on industrial and commercial energy efficiency projects after graduating from the University of Florida with a BS in Materials Science and Engineering. This summer, he will join ExxonMobil on the Energy Products – Fuels Value Chain team.
Joe Murray (MBA’27)

Like Jack, Joe is focused on energy finance and capital markets, with a particular interest in how valuation frameworks, regulatory environments, and macroeconomic dynamics shape investment decisions and the development of energy infrastructure. A UC-Berkeley graduate with an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Business, he spent five years at PwC specializing in decarbonization consulting before coming to Fuqua. This year, Joe was a Program Lead for the Energy Conference, organizing a panel on how investors and capital providers are adapting their strategies in response to evolving market conditions and the shifting relationships among venture capital, private equity, institutional investors, and public finance. He will spend the summer at J.P. Morgan in the Power & Renewables Investment Banking group.
