Franklin Energy

With over 20 years of experience in energy and finance, Terry Sobolewski has held leadership roles in operations, customer delivery, sales, business planning, and enterprise-wide process and performance improvement. As CEO of Franklin Energy, Terry is responsible for providing strategic direction and creating a company vision, inspiring employees to drive towards long-term success.  He also brings to Franklin his extensive background in clean energy solutions including energy efficiency & affordability, demand response, electric transport, distributed energy resource programs, and community support through corporate citizenship & economic development.

Previously, Terry served as President of National Grid’s New England and Rhode Island businesses, leading 6,000 employees to deliver safe, reliable, clean and affordable energy to 3 million electric and gas customers across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  He also served as Chief Customer Officer, where he was responsible for customer innovation, sales & solution delivery across all of National Grid’s service territories.  Prior to joining National Grid, Terry led East Coast Business Development for SunPower Corporation, a leader in the design, manufacturing and delivery of new solar technologies. He also worked for GE Capital in various leadership roles including Mid-Atlantic Region Manager for GE Capital Solutions, General Manager for GE Technology Finance and Senior Managing Director – Sales for GE Vendor Finance.  While on active duty with the US Navy, Terry completed training as a Naval Intelligence Officer, spending the majority of his time with Electronic Warfare, Squadron 130, in Whidbey Island, WA.

He holds both a BSE in mechanical engineering as well as an MBA in marketing and leadership from Duke University.
