Managing Director and the Head of Impact and Targeted Investing Funds

Hamilton Lane

David is a Managing Director and the Head of Impact and Targeted Investing Funds at Hamilton Lane. He also serves as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee and Responsible Investment Committee.

Prior to building Hamilton Lane’s impact investment strategy, David co-led multiple fund platforms focused on direct private investments across Hamilton Lane’s investment products, including the launch and growth of Hamilton Lane’s Direct Equity investment and Direct Credit investment activities. He has worked closely with some of the largest global institutional investors to build private markets strategies focused on sustainable investment themes, including climate, growth, and small business strategies.  In fulfilling these duties, he has served as Board Member for multiple direct company and fund investments.

Prior to joining Hamilton Lane in 2004, David was a corporate investment banker at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse in New York. David also served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.

David received an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a B.A. in Political Science from Swarthmore College.  He also volunteers as a member of Swarthmore College’s Investment Committee and serves as Treasurer and Board Member of Mt Airy Baseball, a diverse, all volunteer community youth baseball league serving 1,400 children in Philadelphia.
