Kirsten Thorne leads the Global Issues and Public Policy group at Chevron, one of the world’s largest integrated energy companies. She is responsible for advancing the company’s corporate responsibility practices and reporting, and emerging issues management. Previously, Kirsten held the position of Manager, Environmental Strategy at Chevron, where she led the development of corporate level environmental policy and enterprise strategy. Prior to that role, she served as a Senior Environmental Policy Advisor based in Washington, DC, advising the company on global environmental and energy issues. In addition, Kirsten has more than 10 years of policy, communications and public affairs experience with Chevron’s wholly-owned mining subsidiaries. Her responsibilities included working extensively on mine safety, environmental stewardship and community development issues. Kirsten has a BA in art from Whittier College and a JD with an emphasis in environmental and land use law from Chapman University School of Law.
