E+Co
E+Co was launched out of the Rockefeller Foundation in 1994. It underwent restructuring in 2012 that resulted in the creation of a new entity, Persistent Energy Partners. E+Co was a pioneer of impact investing and sought to provide financing for large numbers of small and growing businesses as a strategy to accelerate sustainable development in low-income countries. It earned the ESI award for its tireless efforts to provide lasting solutions to climate change and poverty through clean energy investments in developing countries.
Philip LaRocco, E+Co’s founder, delivered the inaugural ESI Lecture and accepted the award on behalf of E+C0.
