Frannie Gurzenda is an MBA student at Duke University concentrating in sustainability and social entrepreneurship. She is from rural southwestern Pennsylvania and holds a degree in Art History and Education Studies from Bowdoin College in Maine. Prior to Duke, Frannie worked in development in museums across DC including the Smithsonian and National Gallery of Art. She enjoyed working to make art and culture free and open to the public, but became curious about sitting on the funder side of the table and allocating capital for good. Frannie pursues this question during her MBA; last summer she worked in philanthropy at the Rockefeller Foundation, and at Fuqua, she is very involved with CASE and CASEi3, exploring impact investing as a lever for change.
