Assistant Vice President, Climate Resilience

Marissa Glassbrook is Assistant Vice President, Climate Resilience at Sun Life Financial, where she leads enterprise climate resilience planning across climate risk, strategy, and performance, including physical and transition risk modeling, scenario analysis, strategic roadmaps, greenhouse gas emissions accounting and assurance, and preparation of material for climate-related governance and disclosure. In this role Marissa works across business groups, functions, and senior leadership to integrate climate considerations into end-to-end planning and performance processes to drive long-term business resilience.

Prior to Sun Life, Marissa led the US Sustainability team at National Grid, including climate transition planning, science-based target implementation, and climate-related reporting. She began her career as an electrical engineer with a focus on transmission infrastructure and power systems, including interconnection of renewable energy and planning for long-term electrification trends across sectors, in addition to prior roles in strategic planning, business performance, and emergency response. Marissa has also held previous roles in business development at a satellite startup portfolio company at MIT’s The Engine, in addition to working on AP1000 nuclear reactor design, wind energy blade design education, and engineering research at a self-cleaning solar cell laboratory.

Marissa holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Boston University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
