Background

Established in 2002 as a research and education center based at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, the Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE) prepares leaders and organizations with the business skills needed to achieve last social change.

For the last 15 years, CASE has educated thousands of students and worked with thousands of organizations, funders, government agencies, and researchers to define, connect theory and practice, and propel the idea of social entrepreneurship into the robust field it is today.  As the Center looks ahead, we remain obsessed with one question:  How do social entrepreneurs leap the chasm from innovative idea to sustainable impact at scale?

Issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion are foundational to answering this question.  Simply put, we believe that solving the world’s most pressing challenges requires utilizing the strengths and contributions of all people.  However, both domestically and globally, many of the social and environmental challenges that communities face are rooted in systems of oppression, including racism, sexism, classism, and homophobia – and all too often solutions to these problems are also hindered from gaining traction by structural inequity.

CASE seeks to engage a Senior Fellow to help us develop a clearer strategy for contributing to a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable ecosystem in which social entrepreneurship for all can thrive.   The Senior Fellow might be a current or retired practitioner, educator, consultant, social entrepreneur, writer/ journalist, or artist.
