Gary Morris, MEM/MBA ’10, is an accomplished electric utility professional with over a decade of experience in renewable energy development, financial structuring, and regulated utilities. Gary has spent his career within two of the largest electric utilities in the United States working to provide clean, reliable, and cost-effective solutions to customers.

As Vice President of Distributed Generation (DG) at NextEra Energy, Gary leads the DG Solar and Storage business unit with overall responsible for the development, engineering, and construction of DG solar and storage projects throughout the U.S.  Prior to joining NextEra Energy in 2018, Gary held various finance and renewable energy roles at Duke Energy. While at Duke Energy, Gary served as the Chief Financial Officer of REC Solar, a Duke Energy subsidiary, with overall responsibility for the finance organization as well as the solar and storage development teams. Other Duke Energy positions included roles in project valuation, origination and development, structured finance, and financial forecasting. 

Gary received his BS in Environmental Studies from Elon University and holds both an MBA and Master of Environmental Management from Duke University.
