An accomplished sustainability & ESG and facilities executive, Mike Herod has over 20 of years advancing sustainability through thought leadership and successful program creation, including notable successes in developing global portfolio carbon strategies and managing metrics and reporting in accordance with guidelines including CDP, TCFD, SASB, SBTi, LEED, Green Globes, Global Reporting Initiative, and Energy Star. Before his role as Director of ESG & Sustainability and Facilities at Fluence, Mr. Herod was the Senior Manager of Global Sustainability at Newell Brands, where he led carbon reduction strategies and expanded sustainability culture, and the Chief Sustainability Officer and Founder at GOEFER, overseeing a sustainability technology company. His previous roles include Sustainability Faculty Associate at Arizona State University, Sustainability Subject Matter Expert Consultant at LMI DHS/CBP, Regional Customer Sustainability Manager at xpedx/IP, and Sustainability Project Manager for the State of Arizona. He holds a B.S. in Sustainability, Energy, and Advanced Materials, and a Master’s in Sustainability Leadership, both from Arizona State University.
